Who can refer a friend ?

To refer a friend you need to be an existing, active Loop smart meter app user.

How do I refer a friend?

It’s really easy.  You just need to give your friend two pieces of information.

  1. Send your friend this link (https://bit.ly/3vXuXe5) and ask them to sign up.  
  2. Also give them the email address that you use for your Loop account.  This is important otherwise we won’t be able to identify you in the system.

Once your friend has signed up to Loop and we have confirmed that we can get energy data for them, they will receive a welcome email.  In that welcome email we prompt them to provide us with the email address of the person who referred them via this webform.  And that’s it.  Once they’ve sent that in, we check the accounts and all being well, you’ve earned your first £5 voucher.

What reward will I get?

For every qualifying referral we will give you a £5 voucher from Wearth, the leading eco-friendly website specialising in zero-waste products for everyday life.

How long will it take to get my voucher?

Once your friend sets up their account we will need a little time to confirm everything is active and to check that the terms have been met.  You can find the simple T&Cs further down this page.  If they have been met, we’ll send you your voucher within 90 days of the successful sign-up.

How many friends can I refer?

As many as possible please!  We’d love to be handing out vouchers like confetti.

Can I introduce someone living in the same house?

You can set up multiple accounts for different residents in the same household to access the same energy data however these do not quality for the Refer a Friend promotion.  To qualify as an active new user, they must use an MPAN that has not been previously registered with Loop.

What do you mean this is a trial?

We’re trialling this scheme for the simple reason that word of mouth is a very powerful tool.  Your friends are more likely to act on a recommendation from you than from anywhere else, so we want to find a simple way to reward that advocacy.

Because it’s a trial, some of the processes aren’t as slick as they could be – for example if it proves successful we will look into providing personalised referral links to make the whole process a bit easier.  But for now, this is (hopefully) not too complicated.

How long will the trial last for?

The first trial will run until the end of September.  We will notify all participants before the trial ends.

Will I earn a reward for every person I introduce?

During the trial, providing the terms of the trial are met, you will will earn a reward for every active new customer you introduce.  Once the trial has finished there may be a period during which no Refer a Friend scheme is running.  During this period, no rewards will be paid.  We will notify all participants when the trial is coming to an end.

T&Cs

  • This offer is only valid for the introduction of new active customers to Loop.  A new active customer is a customer who has not previously added their MPAN to the Loop system and who successfully receives full energy data from their smart meter via the Loop smart meter app.  For a dual fuel household this means we need to access both gas and electricity.  For households without Gas this means Electricity only.  We have a very high success rate for connections and data retrieval but sometimes are unable to obtain data for reasons outside of our control.  Rewards will not be paid where data cannot be retrieved for reasons beyond our direct control.
  • This offer is not valid for the introduction of existing or previous active customers.
  • This offer is not valid for the introduction of new users accessing data from an MPAN already on the Loop system.
  • Qualifying referrals will earn one £5 Wearth voucher that will be paid within 90 days of the new active customer signing up, once the necessary checks have been completed.
  • In order for the referring Loop customer to receive their voucher, the new active customer must sign up via this form and provide the email address of the referring Loop customer.  This email address must match the address used on the referring Loop customer’s Loop account.
  • The trial is scheduled to run until the end of September 2022 but we reserve the right to end this promotion at any point.  We will notify all participants when the trial is coming to an end.
