Maximise savings from your battery

Using AI to optimise your battery management and maximise your earnings

Buy Low, Sell High!

Unlocking the full potential of your home battery

Loop Optimise is an automated home battery manager designed to maximise your savings. It actively controls your battery throughout the day, charging it in the most cost-effective way and exporting electricity when you get paid the highest price.

We use cutting-edge AI to determine the best battery settings for savings and efficiency, based on your home energy consumption, battery status, solar generation and import/export electricity prices.

Do you have a home battery and solar panels? Join our Loop Optimise beta programme and see how much you can save. There’s no obligation and you (and your savings!) can leave at any point.

Spots are limited, so join below. We are adding support for new battery manufacturers all the time and if we don’t yet support your battery, we will contact you again when we do.

Frequently asked questions

What savings could I make?

Savings will vary by system specification, usage and tariff. Average Loop Optimise savings are £360 per year for households on Octopus Flux.

Who can join the beta programme?

We currently support the following batteries but the list is growing quickly:

  • GivEnergy
  • Growatt
  • Alpha
  • Instagen

If you're interested in taking part but we don't yet support your equipment, please complete this form and we'll contact you when we add it. Thanks!

I'm on Intelligent Octopus Flux. Is that OK?

If you are on Intelligent Octopus Flux, you won’t be able to use Optimise. This is because Octopus are already optimising your battery and it’s important that only one optimisation is running on your battery at any time.

Can I leave the beta programme?

Yes! You can leave the beta at any time. Your participation is completely voluntary, and you have the freedom to opt out whenever you choose. If you decide to leave the beta, simply let us know, and we will assist you with the process. Your feedback up to that point will still be valuable to us.

How does Loop Optimise work?

Loop Optimise uses a combination of energy cost forecasts, solar generation data, household consumption patterns, and other relevant information to determine the best way to utilise your battery. The goal is to maximise your earnings.

This process is continuous and adaptive, meaning Loop Optimise makes decisions throughout the day. If the weather or other conditions change unexpectedly, our system adjusts its strategy. Loop Optimise is always working to stay on top of these decisions, ensuring you get the most benefit from your battery.

What are the benefits of Loop Optimise vs making manual adjustments?

Working out the best way to manage your battery can be complex and time-consuming. With so many variables and fluctuations, managing a home battery efficiently often requires as much effort as a full-time job, especially on some tariffs!

Loop Optimise simplifies this process by doing all the calculations for you and automatically instructing your battery on the best actions to take. This means you don't have to spend time manually adjusting your battery settings. Loop Optimise handles everything seamlessly, ensuring your battery is always used in the most efficient way possible, maximising your savings without you having to lift a finger.

How long does the Loop Optmise beta run for?

We don't have a set end date for the Loop Optimise beta. Our goal is to gather as much information as possible to ensure a successful rollout.

By running the beta we can collect valuable feedback and make improvements. We want to refine Loop Optimise and provide the best experience for all users when it officially launches.

What’s required of me during the beta?

Once you're onboarded, we'll contact you for brief feedback every few weeks - nothing time-consuming, don't worry!

This feedback is essential for us to understand your experience with Loop Optimise and make any necessary adjustments. Your input will directly contribute to refining the system and ensuring it meets your needs effectively.

Do I need to inform my battery manufacturer I’m taking part?

For our current list of supported manufacturers, typically you don’t need to inform them. However, we will handle this process on your behalf with your permission.

If there are any changes to this arrangement, we will promptly inform you.

Does Loop Optimise affect my battery warranty?

Loop Optimise typically cycles the battery at most once a day. This is within the warranty of most home batteries.

Does Loop Optimise impact my battery life?

Battery health is a complex matter with numerous factors to consider. One commonly known factor is the number of cycles a battery undergoes daily. However, this is just one aspect among many that contribute to understanding overall battery health. While monitoring battery health may not be part of the beta trial currently, we are actively exploring optimal methods to monitor and enhance battery longevity.

For instance, strategies such as lowering the average daily State of Charge (SOC) or adjusting cycle counts during cold winter days to prevent battery temperature from dropping too low are being considered. These approaches aim to promote better battery health over time. As we continue to develop Loop Optimise, we're focused on implementing practices that support the longevity of your battery.

How do I know if Loop Optimise is saving me money?

Figuring out the savings from solar and battery investments can be tricky, especially with changing energy markets. Initially, when you install solar panels and a home battery, you're given an estimate of how long it will take to recover your costs. However, this can vary due to market fluctuations.

To understand how much Loop Optimise is saving you, we compare your actual import and export costs using the system to what they would be without it. This comparison uses your real energy consumption and solar generation data, giving you a clear idea of the financial benefits.

Who do I contact for support during the beta?
